Are the charge motion delete plates worth it? I've heard they loose low end torque. Is that true?
Best Regards,I installed a set of billet Charge Motion Control Delete plates on my 2005 Mustang GT during installation of my supercharger. Excellent constructed quality product. No machining marks or burrs. The intake ports are smooth and completely even.
Installation is simple- remove the plastic manifold plenum, unbolt the factory plates and bolt the Steeda plates in.
This product does require computing tuning, otherwise low RPM performance will be adversely effected. With tuning (SCT flash tuners include provisions for the plates) look for real 10 horsepower gains at the wheels throughout the power band.
A good tune will show no loss, but no gains down low. But most will experience a loss of power, just not noticeable. You actually do lose a little on the low end but most people see the mid and upper rpm range gains more important.
