Does anyone circuit race on this site or own a cobra r?
I've been considering going back into circuit racing and I'm thinking of making a mustang my race car. Closest circuit track to me is the corvette track in bowling green, KY. I'm around 5-6 hours away from road Atlanta; I do have some knowledge of that track (father used to race there).
Just wanted to see if anyone else is circuit racing on the site
Race car options: 95/94 cobra or possibly a fox.

I don't think we have any Cobra R owners on here unfortunately. I've never done any real race events myself but I enjoy doing open lapping days. Haven't been able to make it out in over a year unfortunately, but I have a blast when I do go.

Personally I would probably go with a fox coupe if I was building a dedicated track car

I thought about the fox but I'm kinda leaning towards the sn95, I've already built one for racing for a customer at the shop I work at. So I know what to modify on the car. I already have an irs from a cobra and the kit for the swap. I put a live axel in a terminator and part of the payment was the irs. The 5.0 will be easy to mod for racing. being a pushrod engine mods are close to limitless. That's why I chose a pushrod engine instead of a sohc or dohc plus weighs less. Basically, the gt40 kit, intake, cam are a starting point on the engine.

Depending on how much tax season hurts me this year I may do a track day at Sonoma. $280 for 5 20 minute sessions.

Otherwise I'm mostly autocross for now.

Heard good things about Sonoma. Unfortunately I'm almost 3000 miles away, so I'm not coming anytime soon. Have you been to leguna seca?
