We have a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang - all original. It's been in storage for a very long time and needs a little elbow grease to make her pretty again. Do I use a wax cleaner then the wax paste or what? Also which product is your favorite?
I would give a good wash and then maybe a clay treatment. After you get all the barnacles off the car, you need to determine by condition if you need Rubbing Compound, Polishing Compound, Wax with a cleaner in it, or just a paste wax. If it shins and doesn't look milky, then the polishing or wax with cleaner will work best. If you have the cash, have a Pro Detail it and they have all the compounds and can buff the surface without burning through the sharp edges.
If the paint is extremely dirty, use a cleaner first (like a clay bar), then use a good brand of carnuba wax. Carnuba wax is best but won't last as long as a synthetic wax.
