The transmission needs to be removed, and the throw out bearing will be riding on the shaft that connects the transmission to the engine. It is engaged via a clutch fork.

If you are not mechanically inclined, or have doubts about your abilities I would let someone else tackle the job. On our tightly packed cars things can be tough to reach. The job will take between 4 and 8 hours.

You have to remove the driveshaft, mid pipe, disconnect the clutch, remove the shifter inside the car, and then begin unbolting the trans bellhousing from the engine. Everything needs to be properly supported, and you may have a crossmember to remove.

I need to change my bearings and I have not done it yet.

A word of caution; if you wait too long you could end up with a frozen bearing that comes apart, or you could find the input shaft on the trans worn due to the bearing welding itself together.
