Check engine light came on. I scanned it with the device and this code came up. Said it was an "evaporative emissions leak". Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

It is normally a bad seal on the gas cap or a loose has cap. It could also be a small crack in the rubber hose leading to the charcoal cannister.

It isn't going to cause you a problem, but the service engine light will drive you insane.

The oil was changed right before the check engine light came on. I don't know if that has anything to do with it

P0456 is a small EVAP leak code.

Before you do anything crazy, pull off your gas cap, check the o-ring, if it's cracked/dry rotted/rolled or just old looking, get a new gas cap and clear the code and see if it comes back.

I'm a certified technician and 99.7% of the time if it's a small leak code it's gonna be from the gas cap.

If that doesn't resolve it and you don't have emissions inspections where you are I would just delete the Egr and evap. Gets rid of some excess weight, and cleans the engine bay up.

My car has neither of them.
