Had the car coded a 96 3.8l stock and P1443 showed up. Being new to Mustangs (since it is my g/f car) I did a little research and found this article.

Now can someone break that down to an unexpirience joe like me? Any pics or Ideas of where are should be looking for sensors, canasters, vaccums and valves?

Thank you,

Well that code means the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve on top of the throttle body is screwing up. No offense intended, but being you're g/f's car, has she ever changed the air filter? Usually the IAC screws up because it gets full of dirt. She may just need a new one, no biggy. Or you could take it off and blow in it to see if dirt falls out. Here's a pic, just so you know where it is. It's the blue thing the arrow is pointing to.
