ok so I installed all the necessary parts and the tune from vmp. Wow this car is a blast, woke right up. My next upgrade will prob be a short shifter and driveshaft. Can this coyote handle the 675 horses that vmp claims after installing this "power package". I'm happy with the car the way it sits as far as power. I have 5800 miles on the car.

Wow that's a ton of power. Is the motor built up? I'm not a coyote expert, but isn't that a bit beyond the safe limits if it's a stock motor?

It's 675 at the crank so probably about 580-610 at the tires depending on the dyno.

Which is fine

Stock motor let go at 611 at the tires. Had a lot to do with a distribution issue and 650 ft-lbs at 2800rpms

wow!! do u think the tune had something to do with that? don't wanna b that guy with all these questions but this is what im afraid of. I mean if something were to go wrong I would prob go with the aluuminator but id rather not. money doesn't grow on trees. just trying to get an idea of what my limit for modding is.

No it wasn't the tune. It was just abuse and distribution problems.

You will be good for low 600's with a good tune on stock motor.

It is addicting, most people always want more. Jusy have to find what makes you happy with it. Once you get in the 600+ range and can hook up it makes for a fun street car.

I will be going for 900's

I have the same kit on my 12' RS3 and must say it is RE-diculously faster now. I was thinking about a different shifter and talking with my service guy about them. He thought they were a waste of $$$ and has a lot of people paying to have them removed shortly after paying for the installs (take his opinion with a grain of salt). I was wanting to remedy the occasional grinding and resistance of the car going into gears. He recommended I try a bracket first so I ordered the Barton 2 Post bracket and had it installed. The grinding is gone for me now and shifting feels more "notchy" and solid. Best mod I have done other than the VMP phase 3 kit. Next mod will be some new Continental DWS tires to replace the crappy Cooper's

Your service guy is an idiot if he didn't recommend changing the shifter....The factory one is complete garbage. I think the MGW race spec short shifter was hands down the best mod I have done, and I have around 7k in mods. Howver, since you already got the bracket, and if you are happy with it, no need to change. The only aftermarket shifters that people may have had removed was the hurst ones. The MGW is great and Barton has tremendous reviews as well.
