My dad has a 69 Mach 1 with a 427 SOHC, we were talking last night on the phone and he told me he'd let me have the 427 sideoiler that he was originally going to put in the Mach before he came across the SOHC. At first I laughed it off because I literally just purchased a dart block a few days ago, but now that I think about it, how cool would it be to put that motor in my gt? I'm hell bent on re-installing the supercharger though, and I feel that I'd have no option but to keep the 427 original. My goal for this car was an insane amount of power with the dart block, but an original 427 would be just as cool. Just looking for some feedback as to what some of you would do?

Is it a roots style charger or a centrifugal? If its centrifugal, I dont see why you could re install it.

It's a centrifugal, I know I can reinstall it, I just don't know if I would want to.

I say go with the dart block!! You can get more power out of it..
But how cool would it be to be driving around with an original 427 sideoiler in a fox?

How heavy is that engine in comparison? And unless you build it up a lot will prob keep you at the same power level

Lol well at this point it's pretty much too late anyways. I'm not gonna lose money on selling a block that I just bought brand new, had he of told me this a week ago it might be a different story. Just thought it would be cool to do this build. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head with it done.

I've never heard of one.. Do you have pics of it in his Mach?
I just text him to see if he'd send me a few pics. The car is gorgeous. The one downside to it is he painted it a GM color. He saw the color on a old cavalier and fell in love with it so that's the color he painted it.
