Okay first of all, this is the first time I have ever taken part in something like this and let me tell you it is a blast and fills an addiction that you grave when sitting at any red light revving your engine ready to take off when the light turns green. My first pass on the 1/4 mile track was over 16 secs. Yeah, Yeah I know. Second in the 15s, next in the 14s and then I pretty much stayed in the low 13s. I did break 13 with this run at 12.908 @ 114.05 mph. You don't realize what it takes to make a car go fast until you are in environment like this. There is much to learn and upgrade on the car (Tires) in order to consistently be in the 12s and break the 12s. I'm on my way...next year I will go for low 12s and high 11s which I know I should be making with what I have in the car today.

Launch and shifting appear to be key as well, the shifting from 1st to 2nd seems to be crucial in getting good times. I could be wrong but this is what I figured was wrong with me today.

Sorry about the vid, I had the videocam angled wrong lol

Congrats man!! Sketchy on stock tires.

11's? Your setup with some DR/slicks should easily be in the 10'a. Hahaha.

I almost $hit myself my first time out.

Street tires... Mid 12s

Never let up although I was sliding and chirping at launch and every gear change!! Holy hell was it fun/terrifying.

I'm gonna wait until I get better tires before I go again though!!

Thanks!!! I think I probably could, but I need to learn how to drive, it ain't easy and the more sliding and chirping you do at launch the more crap I stain my pants with...lmao I do let up and I think that is some of my issue.

But fun as hell, I loved it!!! But can be terrifying before I went all I heard from people were this guy, that guy went into the wall going down the track or hit the side wall when smoking the tires...Crazy...

not bad for first time out, can be very intimidating if you've never done it. you should be able to hit low 12's high 11's with your setup now... just practice brother!!

Yeah don't feel bad man, my first time at the track was a come to jesus moment too. It was 42 degrees on the track and I was on stock all season Pirellis ... might as well have been hockey pucks!

The good thing is that you're learning, being safe, and you were improving your times! Keep at it and you'll have good times before you know it. What did your 60' times look like? Did you try not doing such an aggressive burnout on those street tires? The times I ran on street tires they had the best grip when I just spun a bit to dust them off, the heat doesn't usually do them any favors.

Agree. That's what I was running. I tried the burnouts a few times. But quickly stop. Really just chirped them a bit. Fun times!!!
