I'm looking for a set of drag wheels and slicks that will fit my 06 mustang gt without having to do any modifications to the suspension. The car is currently lowered 1" on maximum motorsports suspension. I know I can't fit a 10" wide wheel without modifications, but can I fit like a 15x8" with a drag slick on the back? Will it fit over my brakes? Wheel and tire suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well you can get jeg sport star wheels


15x4 up front with 165/80/15s with a 3/8s spacer to clear the brakes

15x8 in the rear with 275/50/15, no spacers but I did have to grind the caliper a little bit, so just in case buy 1/8 spacer

My car is also lowerd 1.5 inches

I'm running Micky thompsons ET street drag raidals, if you get slicks you need bigger studs and a drive shaft loop, at a NHRA sanctioned track at least

MT ET streets is THE BEST drag radial you can buy, almost everyone uses them at the track.

However Hoosier has a tire Qtp it's damn near a slick but DOT approved, I would run them but I daily drive with the drag radials so I can drive on a DOT slick

And yes they hook good I just need to be a better driver, best time I've ran is a 13.1 with a 1.9 60' so I could be running a 12.8 if get better launches, problem is bogging not spinning

That definitely helps me out. Thank you. I will be daily driving it with different wheels and tires. Just need some for the track.

If you plan on using real non dot racing slicks, do not use the Jegs sport stars. They are not legal for NHRA or IHRA. You can use them with DOT street slicks

While BasHol's recommendation is fantastic, you definitely can fit 10" wheels without any issues. Unless there is some sort of 10" restriction on 15" wheels?

Are those hooking for you well? I've heard mixed reviews about them.
MT's are the best DR for the money. Most people knock what THEY can't get results from. Bashol has plenty of time in his car left but he didn't automatically blame the tires. He can tell you they stick on rolling punches at pretty much any gear/speed.

You need relocation brackets with 15x10 rims

NEED or SHOULD have? because s197forum has a member named sharad in the 10s and 9s nailing 1.26 and 1.30 60' times with no reloc brackets and always has this debate with the guy from BMR lol.

Pretty funny actually.

Relocation brackets for the sway bar, sorry I didnt clearly state that, but ya it's impossible to run 15x10s without a sway bar relocation bracket

What makes them not good for slicks? I've seen slicks on stock rims

I just glanced of the NHRA rule book I didn't see any mention of certain rims needed for non dot slicks, please post this rule and explain more

All I really need is just the rears, I don't want to do a sway bar relocation or anything of the sort, just something I can throw on when I go to the drag strip here in Steel, AL. For track use only, what would be the best route for me to go? My car put down 351wrhp/377rwtq on pump gas. I have 4.10 gears in the car and have never been down the track with it so it'll be my first run. I will be putting race gas in it so I'm not sure how much more
rwhp but I'm guessing at least 10. With these specs give me some ideas for drag setup. It has drag tuned maximum motorsports suspension as well.

Then get the jegs wheels and Hoosier QTPs


Tires will cost you 400
And rims will cost 240

So your look at around 700 once you get them mounted and balanced
