So my bearings are gone in my tranny t45 and my clutch is getting week so I'm going to do the tranny rebuild my self and clutch

What's your recommendation on clutch and can I just use stock flywheel ? I'm thinking of going stage 3 clutch spec or ram I would like to just get my flywheel resurfaced much cheaper, lots of mixed reviews I'm an apprentice mechanic and everybody at my work has been saying a flywheel is a flywheel as long as the bolt pattern is the same

What do you think ?

I went SPEC. Takes a Emile to break in though. 500 miles maybe more. Stage 2.

Still breaking mine in. 250 and counting, still acts like new.

Why do you want a stage 3? I went with a Ford Racing Billet Steel flywheel, but you can machine yours. I'm fairly certain Ford Racing sells a rebuild kit for your tranny.

I plan on modifying my car more and more and I don't want to have to replace the clutch again... I just want something that's bullet proof, I have cold air intake, 4.10 gears, sct tune , long tube headers, o/r x pipe, slp lm1, msd ignition, comp cam stage 3, and bbk 78mm throttle body

That is one hell of a clutch for some minor bolts-ons. Is this a DD? You can do that if you wish, but I think it's pointless

A stage 2 will hold some pretty good horsepower still. One thing to remember is what kind of friction material it has. The stage 3 has a carbon-metallic friction material which would make it pretty tough to get a smooth engagement. What sort of horsepower do you want to put down and how soon are you looking at reaching that?

+1. I have stage 2 and they are aggressive, plus race ready up to bout 500 RWHP. Stage 3 will cost you your engine and more. Ding dong.

Stay away from spec stage 3. Stage 3+ is a much better clutch if you're wanting something indestructable. Mine has held up to several 4500 dumps on slicks with 500 ftlbs to the wheels.

What about this ram stage two? And does anybody know if the ford racing clutch on AM is a stage two?
I honestly don't know about the Ford Racing clutch, but that Ram looks decent. I personally went with the Stage 1 Exedy

I have a new clutch, flywheel, and tranny that I'm going to put in my 91 GT... Do I have to balance the new flywheel of its brand new?
Where are you buying it from? They should be balanced from the manufacturer.

No problem. That person was probably talking about his engine being balanced

My current experience. My engine was 1/4" off on the right mount, painful on the clutch, but not sure. Adjusted it yesterday. Still have to test drive before I drop my tranny again. This is due to complete rebuild - removing engine.
