It really depends on what kind of shape the ridges that hold them in place are in. There is a tool to remove them. Its basically a flat metal fork with two wide prongs and a gap in the middle so that it slides underneath. Then they just pop up. Or you can just pry them up with a flathead screw driver. If the little ridges down the center post are still in good shape than the push pin will stay in place. Otherwise you can just pick up some new ones. They aren't expensive.
