I've heard of similar products working. I wanna know how they deduce the RPM when their only connection to the car is the lighter socket.

ya i had the g-tech pro for my car the 0-60 was accurate but the 1/4 was off lol it said my car was running a 14.1....i wish :) add a second and u got my times :)

If I am not mistaken you can retrieve a rpm signal from the lighter. I dont think it is the best place to do it but it is possible

oscillation in electric signal

I would think that an oscillation in the voltage throughout the system would indicate what your RPM level is.

This is because the oscillation of the current comming from the alternator will be directly proportional to the engine rpm
