first of all that 68 mustang you have? is a very popular year, and its worth more than the mazda by several grand, with a rebuilt motor tranny and new tires, that should be a great daily driver, anyway, fun to drive and good on gas, and that 289 is one of the coolest easy to pump up small blocks ever made. Thats a keeper wildman its going to go up in value too, so minimum would be like a mazda plus 4 grand, book on the mazda is 8 grand, the mustang average retail is 14 grand plus, big difference.
And that mustang is going to be a no brainer either, first , there is nothing special about that year, and if that is procharger it did not come that way, and if its a v6 its still slow. But even a v8 5sp GT books out at eight grand. and change, no wonder, they want to trade, they are getting a lot better deal. Honestly, you could get more money selling the mustang, and be 5 grand short of buying a new honda, I dont see either one of those two cars being worth more in the next 10 years. YOURE MUSTANG IS WORTH MORE MONEY, DONT DO IT!!!.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS on that mazda rotory engine the rx8 was not as good as some people would have liked, and it was kind of hit or miss to get a good engine, there are other potential problems as well, most mechanics cannot work on one, so that means dealer only, (same for parts) this creates an expensive fix for almost anything, There were just enough problems with a new all the bugs are not worked out engine, I would not buy one the biggest problem is longevity of the motor is not there, oil, and fuel consumption are issues. rather have a 68 mustang ace.!!!
