It has a 2.3l inline 4 non-turbo. only has around 88 horses. I was thinking about a cowl induction system.. but is there anything cheaper? Im thinking under 200. The carburetor only is the two hole/valve (whatever) I was thinking about a getting a 4 hole carb... any ideas?

Sorry man but even with all the money out there you can't get to much power out of it. If you really love the car and want to spen less than 200 dollars go with light wieght seats. every 100 pounds you reduce from your car is an extra 10 horsepower

there's not much you can add to it besides a cold air intake system that will help it much ,maybe improve on the exhaust,but with a limited budget you will be limited as to what you can do to it,when you get the money though drop a 302 or a 351 engine in it then you,ll have something good to add horse power to,the 2.3 is limited as to what you can do to it,but right now its cheap to drive,good luck with it.

No, it get's enough gas with that carb., even the turbo engine used it. I had a turbo 2.3 back when they were new and it was also under powered but still had 40 more hp than the n/a engine. You won't even notice the difference of most changes on that budget. Your only options without going turbo, are the air cleaner and exhaust. I know this is over you budget also, but the newer 2.3 engine from a Ranger has a ton more power. Sorry.

You could get a dry hit of NOS that attaches to your intake really simple to instal and could improve your HP to about 50 with something called a skeaky peat system its just a little bottle of juice, you might have to ****** your timing just a degree or two but like I said very simple and with your budget im cruching the numbers and theres not much else out there you could do with that kind of money heres the link to that.
