The 09 is exactly same as the 05,05,07,and 08 mustangs. The only difference is some of the features it is offered with (interior lighting, navigation, heated seats, power driver seat)... All the 05-08 aftermarket parts will fit and function correctly.The 2010 Mustang will be different though.

Just make sure if it is a performance modification that most performance parts require a tune on all 05-09 mustangs (some mods such as exhaust do not require a tune)

Since the 09 is going to be the same as the 08, which is the same as the 07, which is the same as the 06 & 05 (save for some minor changes), I'm going to say -4 years (yes negative 4) or so. There were aftermarket parts available within days of the release of the 05 model back in the middle of 04 and the aftermarket for the S197 has just grown since then. A good number of these parts will work on the 09.

partscheap.com is selling '09 parts right now. Plus, the engine, obviously, can be easily modified, and garages can make parts for them.
