I shot my 1966 Mustang (black) with JAU Acrylic Urethane (single stage - no clearcoat) from PPG's shopline line of paints. I shot down 4 light coats, 600 wet sanded, then shot 4 wet coats for a total of 3 quarts of paint in all. I let it dry for 2 days, 1500 wet sanded, then buffed the car with cutting creme followed by polishing compound. Afterwards, I polished the car with swirl remover for a perfect show car shine. Done.
Now I want to know if I can wax it. IT HAS BEEN 30 DAYS. I know this question has been asked many times, but more often than not people don't understand the question. I don't want to wax it to make it look shiny. It already looks shiny, but I want to protect the paint with a layer of wax. It's been 95 degrees here every day since we've painted it, and it's been 30 days.
Can I go ahead and wax this car?
