Im lookin to buy a 93 ford mustang gt convertible from this guy but im really confused. this mustang has around 120k miles on it, and it has a rebuilt engine. this guy says he is the second owner, and bought it from an old man. he has put many cobra parts on it he tells me too. it looks really nice and is a stick shift and is only 3500 dollars. it has a 1600 dollar sound system, really nice rims and alot more. All over the internet i read about how people say how good mustangs are and i love them! but my family and my uncle who is a car salesman say that they are bad and break down. is this true? is a mustang worth it???

sorry for the long question =P

No it is not true that "all" Mustangs break down. Only ones that are driven too hard and not maintained properly. Mine is at 135,000 miles and has absolutely no problems. I drive it aggressively, but I maintain it properly.
As for the one you're looking at.. I'd say go for it, if you like the way it looks, but I'm suspicious of the engine. Maybe have it checked out by a shop first if you can. If you go ahead and buy it, just accept you may have to spend some money on the engine. If the car is in good shape, it could be worth it even if you have to spend some money. The Fox-body style Mustangs are going up in value, because they're getting older and a little rarer in good shape. More and more are beat to hell and not worth buying. If this is a good looking car, I'd get it.

Old man blew up the engine? why did it need to be replaced before 120K unless it was abused. well it is not true they are bad per se, it is that the people who drive them run the p**s out of them and they will not take abuse. However I have driven my 1996 ford ranger since new has over 200k and am gonna drive it another 200k
