With those 2 mods + a tuner that would give you a very big difference in HP gains cause you letting more air in and exhausting it just as well I can give you an exact estimate on how much HP but it will be HUGE trust me.

We can throw numbers around all day, but the only real way to find out your HP and TQ is to get it dynoed.

With all that and no tuner you are looking at like 5 maybe 7 HP/TQ, and thats on a good dyno run.

+1.. Prolly about 20 with a tuner. Makes a huge difference. 20 isn't a big number but is a decent amount or our cars weight and everything. Feels like a new car after a tune on it.

Get a bama tuner, jba headers, 4.10 gears with give you a lot of torq and if you got theses mods I would suggest getting a stronger rear axles and like a stage 2 clutch and you minus will get an aluminum flywheel

---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 AM ----------

Probably be running 250 to 265 with the proper tune

To get 285 I would supercharge or stroke your engine. The axle get 28 spline make sure it's the v6 axles. The get 7.5 not the 8.8 in. As far as gears go I would prefer 4.10 is more for more torq. 3.73 gears is more top end but we have v6 and we wanna wax civics like nothing

For all that hp you will need a new gear box for your automatic

And bama you get fre tunes for life and only run 87 or 91 octane when you get the tune

Many of our customers own and cherish the V6 Mustang as it provides a nice blend of practicality, fuel efficiency and sportiness. Although the 99-04 Mustang V6 is by no means a hot-rod from the factory, it can be improved upon and made fun-to-drive. From the factory, the V6 is rated at 190 HP, which translates into around 145 rear wheel HP on our in-house DynoJet dyno. Follow the steps below to make the V6 Mustang a contender on the street.

Stage I: This begins with the basic bolts on, which are relatively affordable and simple to install. Begin with a MAC Cold Air Induction kit (+5HP) $170, ASP Power Pulleys (+10 HP), MAC Dual Exhaust conversion kit (+7HP), JBA Shorty Headers (+6HP), DiabloSport Predator tuner (+5 HP). This simple combination will yield around 185 rear wheel HP.

Stage II: If you want to continue building power with a naturally aspirated formula, GTR offers custom grind camshafts for the V6 Mustang. Also, adding Ford Racing 3.73 gears will greatly improve acceleration. Depending on the specs, this will bump output up to 210 rear wheel HP.

As for the headers, getting Shorties on a car thats naturally aspirated, especially a 6 cylinder is going to do very little. Notice i didn't say it won't help at all, but compared to longtubes, even with the cost difference, is a better way to go in terms of a better flowing exhaust setup, and a deeper tone in general

to start off :facepalm everywhere

with headers and a tuner (btw jba headers are shortys and yeild MAYBE 2 hp) you'll see ~8-10 on the wheels

and i have factory axles in mine, know why? they are the same ones used in GT's lol both the 7.5 and the 8.8 share the same 28 spline axles from the factory

Thanks guys for the advise i forgot to mention my car is automatic ... what type of tuner is best bama or sf3 from american muscle... also what kind of rear end do i get or off what car can i pull it from

bama tunes all the sct stuff there so if you get the SCT xcal3/SF3 you get their tune, you don't need a rear end for bolt on horsepower...

if you get gears it's highly recommended you get an lsd (limited slip differential) as with the higher torque multiplication of the gears it 'll spin that one tire a lot with a factory open differential

to get 260-285 on the wheels will take motor work not bolt on's.. or forced induction of course which would be cheaper in some respects

To get 285 I would supercharge or stroke your engine. The axle get 28 spline make sure it's the v6 axles. The get 7.5 not the 8.8 in. As far as gears go I would prefer 4.10 is more for more torq. 3.73 gears is more top end but we have v6 and we wanna wax civics like nothing

from what it looks like you're saying gears give you tq with is false... they give you the feeling of it because they are tq multipliers but by no means are they actually increasing your tq numbers, go onto a dyno with both and you won't see a difference

you won't need a new transmission for all that, simple modifications such as a stall converter trans cooler and a shift kit can damn near support 600hp...

and to add to all that OP, you have a convertible which when it comes to racing will take some extra oomph to get going because of the weight they have

it's possible, but unless you get a donor car very cheap and can do all labor a V8 swap is just if not more expensive than just buying a gt, it's your choice
