Read "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" by Thomas Foster first and use his techniques and suggestions to alayza a feature-length film. Write a 500-600 word analytical essay incorporating Foster's strategies in your analysis and evaluation of your chosen film. Include specific references to Foster's book in your essay- direct and indirect quotations using parenthetical documentation (MLA style)

In Foster's book, he says that "Fog, for instance. It almost always signals some sort of confusion." Page. 80

This is what I have:
In the beginning of Pay it Forward, Chris, a young journalist, is reporting at the scene of a crime when his 1965 Ford Mustang is hit and totaled. A stranger comes up to him and gives him keys to a new Jaguar S-Type car for free. Chris questions the stranger’s generosity and questions the motive of this man. According to Thomas Foster’s book, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, the fog symbolizes the confusion of the character, Chris.

How do I do the MLA style to that?

Purchasing a copy of the current edition would be a good investment as most if not all papers you'll write in the future will be in this format.

What is meant by "MLA" style is to adhere to the writing foundations in the guide. In your case you would need to look up parenthetical documentation and cite accordingly.
