Okay, so I have a 2000 V6 with X-pipe exhaust. When I turn my car on, it sounds perfectly fine, but after I drive it around for a couple minutes it sounds like my exhaust is shaking uncontrollably. I've looked at the car while it's stopped and the pipes vibrating, but not more than it ever has. It only does this in drive, when it's parked it sounds normal. Anyone have any ideas??

It is really loud and it sounds a lot like metal jiggling.

Yeah, it sounds like the exhaust is bouncing around, but it doesn't look like it is.

I'm willing to bet an exhaust hanger is loose, or maybe one of the pipes is rattling against part of the body. I had a broken exhaust hanger, and when i wiggled the pipe it didnt wiggle. But it was under the car where it was hitting. So maybe check for that first.

So, turns out that where my pipe goes into dual, it's completely rusted apart. Thankfully there's no other serious rust except where that weld was. So I just need to get it welded again and thankfully don't need new pipes. But until I get it welded, I'm pretty much stuck with a very illegal shorty Y-pipe, if such a thing exists lol.
