There is a green painters tape that is supposed to be better for painting lines, Frog Tape.

I failed multiple times myself lol. I treated it like real spray paint and kept getting little bits of overspray all over that were a PITA to get off. I then realized to just spray a square around whatever I was trying to do and peel it where I want and it worked much better

I also failed big time trying to paint my tails to look more like the 13+ that I saw a few 2005-2009 guys doing that looked kind of cool. First the lines were jagged as hell from peeling the tape and then when I turned on the lights I realized I needed about 2 more coats at least to make it not transparent. HUGE waste of a night lol

Frog tape is no better then blue tape in my opinion.. im a painter and my boss started buying that stuff and i saw no difference and its more expensive too. Its just another infomercial scam

Go to dipyourcar.com. They have a video on how to do stripes correctly, with perfect lines.

The plasti dip is coming out chunky and not like paint at all? It's not working very well for me. And I'm shaking the can very vigorously for a solid minute, not sure what's going on...

Whats the temp? You usually want to spray it at 70 degrees or warmer, too cold and it will come out just like you are saying. You may even want to submerge the can (not completely) in a thing of warm water to give it a good internal temperature.

It's about room temp in my garage, I can wear shorts and a t shirt and i won't be cold at all. So it's not cold.

I've done two rims, and from a far they look not bad and you probably won't notice unless you observe but just need some tips possibly for my next two rims or next time I plasti dip something.

You just gotta work with the angles, my wheels were tricky to do because of all the curves, I didn't want to spray too heavily in one spot and too thin in another.

Right, how many coats did you do? And how many cans did you use?

+1 just keep working it in everywhere. A good 4-5 decent coats will be more than enough!

I put like 7-8 coats on. And I used like 2 & 1/6 of a can

When I did mine I did about 7 coats too but I went really light at first.

I don't think it really matters as long as it looks good at the end.

Wow that's a lot lol. I put 4 coats, I still have two other rims so ill try 6 maybe 7 coats and see how that goes.
