My Google search wasn't successful, but I can tell you that it is a 72 motor. (D is for the 70s and the 2 is the second digit of the year, ie 72).
A motor swap in a car that old is not uncommon, my 67 Mustang had a 65 289 when I got it 15 years ago, then a 69 302, a 74 351W, and finally a 2006 FRPP crate motor.
