I have a 2009 Mustang Coupe, My dumb *** turned a curb too sharp and caught the edge of the curb, go figure the first curb i hit a year into the car takes this long black thing off the verry bottom of the side of my car, it is a long black plastic piece, and i figure if i buy it offline it'll cost a little less to get fixed. my problem is i have absolutely no idea what the part is called. I've searched several mustang body things on the internet, to no avail. Help would be greatly appreciated in naming this mysterious long black piece.

The part you scraped is called a rocker-panel. You won't fine another one on-line. New car dealerships or independent body shops can fix you up.

The best thing you can do is go to the dealer, to the body shop. It is called a side skits. It is usually held on by two side 3M tape in the new cars, It is a dress item. You can try Mustang World .com. They are located in Pensacola, Fl. Don't forget there in will shipping cost and cost because the packet will be over side. You may not get the right one for your year Mustang. Over all the dealer in the body shop can get it for you. Over all you will save time and maybe a little money to boot.
