Can anyone tell me the correct resistor value to use to set the air temp sensor at the best level? :wtf:

And not to sound like an idiot, because I've installed CAI's on older V6's before (mid-90's), but where is the sensor on my 2003? From just a brief look (it's 21* here, and I'm not staying out in it more than I have to!), I don't see it where I've seen them before (in the intake tubing). :?:

This car is bone stock. 'Preciate it... :headbang:

in the 03, its built into the MAF itself. the resistor can be any ohm. it depends on your car's engine.

HOWEVER, i highly recommend staying away from this mod. you can cause the engine to run lean permently by doing this mod.

Yeah, the simple, effective neat little mods WOULD have to be harmful, wouldn't they? Be neat to make a little switchable unit...ON = Resistor, OFF = Normal operation. 8)

yeah, the only time you can have cheap/free mods that help out is when you have a force induction powered car (ie turbo'd or s/c'd) then there are things you can do to increase the airflow that greatly helps out the hp. however, on a smaller n/a car, our cars suck enough air thru the snorkle as needed. plus we cant advance the timing like on the 5.0s, it has to be electronically done.

Sorry Brandon, didn't mean to pick on your little blue car like that....couldn't help myself....hehehe.. everytime I see that picture that is what I think of. Reminds me of those mini Cooper things, there were tons of those in England when I was there in the early 70s and that is what us Air Force guys used to call them.

this happened to me. It made my car throw lean codes for over a year. I finally got a fordchip and it finally reprogrammed my computer for the right timing. I reccommend never touching your IAT sensor. It doesnt do much at all and it really screws your car over. I spent hundreds trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. DO NOT DO THIS MOD I WARN YOU, DO NOT TOUCH THIS MOD. please listen, ive had horrible experience with this.

I guess I'll pass it on by, then. Like video games I used to mod to get better/more powerful weapons, different effects, etc. You could get big benefits, but you'd generally crash the game at some point. :(

By the way, who'd a thunk the Coopers would EVER be so popular?! I remember seeing them in movies for years and years and thinking I wouldn't be caught DEAD in one, and now everybody lusts after them like they're the one and only girl on a desert island with forty guys on Viagra. ;)

Next hot thing will be those Russian cars...the Zil or Zim or something? We'll be putting NOS on 'em and 22's hanging girls all over 'em on magazine covers. :D

Yeah, guy I knew from CA bought one over in England, it was an old ragged one with a lot of rust underneath, something gave way when he was driving it and caused him to flip it up on the side, that was the end of that thing. The British were real strict about rust on the undercarriages of old cars for that reason too!
