its definatly a fixer-upper, inside and out, including under the hood. it does run and it has a 302 v8 engine in it, but when i drove it it didnt have any power, is it worth all the work there will be in the futur?
Don't waste your money. Those are some of the most undesirable Mustangs ever made. The market value on those cars is next to nothing. The only thing worse than that would be if the car was a Mustang Ghia. They're heavy, they're weak and they're known to rust like hell. You'd probably have to mash down on the gas for five minutes straight just to get the car to speed up to 40mph. I know it's tempting, but walk away. Seriously, these cars are not worth buying. And they're beyond ugly too.
i had an 87 notch w/ a 302 and that thing used to put me back in the seat. sounds like that thing has lost compression. if you like the body and you want it for a project car, offer them $500. otherwise, you can find 5.0's for that price that still have a lot of fun left in them.
I bought one a few years back it was black with gold stripes and had a 302,it was weak but we pulled the motor and built a 302 for it we had a lot of fun with it and remember this it is still a Cobra,as of now no one wants it but that could be good not too long ago you could find these cars every where but as they are not popular many have been crushed making it more rare by the day in 1986 I bought a 71 Mach 1 for $850.00 every one said it was not a real Mach 1 and that it was heavy and wasn't worth anything well I would love to have it today opinions have changed about those cars and in the future they likely to change about those little mustangs, but in the end if you like the car buy it if you don't pass it by.
