2008 Jaguar XJ8. Okay well for Christmas my dad is thinking about giving me a brand new 2012 Mustang V6. I'm 17 and my first car was a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT which was a V6. Anyways he didn't really want me to get a car faster than his Jag. Now that Jag is reallly fast. My Eclipse got totaled a few months ago:(. I got it when i was 16. & No I didn't total it. I've had my license for a year now and haven't gotten any tickets. So which is faster? His 2008 Jaguar XJ8(V8 engine) or a 2012 Mustang V6?

Mustang's faster. 305 hp and 3460lbs. Get it with the Performance Package and get 3.31 gears with Pirellis. Also upgrades the suspension. And neal rose, the V6 with PP has the same lateral g's on the track as an M3 and not far behind the overall lap for 30k less, handles amazing

The jag. in all aspects. all mustangs except for the highest price rousch model have basicly an iron post for a rear end. no suspension at all. so a pony may be quick off the line in a 1/4 mile run, in the real world, on a real road, it couldnt keepup with your old eclipse. even the 1s with 500+ hp. they dont corner at all. corner at moderate speed and your gonna be in a ditch. and the only pony that has a decent suspension cost corvette money. i own a 2000 vette i bought new{not my dad!} and its never lost to a street legal pony. even the rousch.

If the Jag has the N/A 4.2L V8, then the Mustang will be quicker, if the Jag is is the supercharged 4.2LV8, then it'll be really close. The Mustang will be electronically limited to 113 MPH though, and the Jag will good for over 150 MPH.

Also the V6 mustang has 2.73 gears standard, with 3.31 gears being optional.

The Mustang is faster already, that Jag is just a boat anchor and you know it. Since the Mustang already has a 8.8" GT/V8 rear end, pull a switch and secretly change gears. They are 3.55's and could be etiher 3.73 with an auto or 4.10 with a standard 6 speed. Now that will move, we might see quarters in under 14 seconds, even 13's without a supercharger. Caveat: watch how you handle the power.

I have seen them race in street races, the mustang won hands down...
I would go with the mustang....
FORD ROLLS!!!!!
I love ford and i will never go with anything else, except the old 1980's toyota trucks( i got one and it is great, but ford is better)....
i have also raced my 2011 mustang v6 against a jaguar and beat it, jaguars suck!!

theyre both fast so just get whichever looks nicer

edit: i just looked at the jaguar on google, dude that looks like junk no one is gonna turn their head for that. you can mod up the mustang with tons of parts, lower it, and make it look sick with loud exhaust this is a no brainer

The Mustang should be faster. they have almost the same exact horsepower but the mustang weighs 600 lbs less. so yes the mustang would be faster.

just looked up the full specs of each vehicle :)

idk much about the jag but the new v6 mustangs are super quick for what they are... it probably wont be as fast as a xj8 but who know i could be wrong... new 5.0 on the other hand would probably break a foot off in the xj8's ***

If its the non supercharged xj8 the mustang has more power and weighs less and will be faster.
