I was a bit concerned about that with the 5.0, my 3.7 is reliable, worse problem it has is a very minor oil leak I suspect is the oil filter or oil filter housing as I read they can warp when the filter is overtightened...which I’m hoping I may have fixed that with an oil change this past weekend. Other than that, it’s more just noise and comfort issues as you’d expect from an old modified S197 base mustang.
I’m used to bigger Ford vehicles (had 91 and 95 thunderbirds and a grand marquis in the past) so that is not as much of a worry, the tbirds were great cars in particular but of course my S197 is my favorite car to date. I thought though the tick was a 2018 issue with the 5.0 and oil burning was a 1st gen 5.0 problem but I’ll definitely have to look into that further if those issues are being reported for 2020-21 models.
Definitely appreciate the input though!
