Is a1986 Ford Mustang LX a good car? its my first real car and im worried. its had 2 owners. they said it runs good, it has news tires spark plugs. the only thing is the ac needs charged and idle needs adjusted. but they're only asking 1300 for it. it grey and t-topped, v6 and interior and exterior are good. any advice?

The 3.8L V6 is a reliable engine. The only common issue is head-gasket failures due to the warping of the heads. They are solid, reliable cars, with parts that are inexpensive and available everywhere. Plus you can drop a 5.0L V8 in it!

I've had 2 1986 SVO's and they're great cars!Yours has the 3.8 v6 that was used up until 2004, so it's a good solid engine...enjoy !

i cant speak for the v6 engine but the 302 engines are great...
