pre-1972 pennies can be worth slightly more than a penny, because they were made of solid copper then. Weigh them and check current copper prices. You can sell them for scrap. But it's barely worth it unless you have pounds of pre-1972 pennies. Many people are selling pre-1972 copper pennies by the pound now.
As for your other pennies, rarity and condition are the most important things to consider. It's impossible to tell you the value of your pennies, but it's likely they're just worth a penny, or their scrap value, unless there is something unusual about them, like they have minting errors.
Good luck. Look for wheatback pennies, buffalo nickels, and mercury dimes whenever you get change. Some of those can be extremely valuable. Also keep an eye out for steel pennies! VERY rare.
