Okay, so I'm 14 and I have friends my own age but for some reason, my sister doesn't have friends her age so she decided to befriend my own friends. I know that it's normal for younger sibs to want to hang around their sibs' friends and everything but this isn't normal because it's not only her preferences but her personality as well. Some people confuse us to be cousins or fraternal twins or something because everyone thinks she's in between 13-15 years old. The precise age varies with the person but between those ages. Anyway, she loves makeup and magazines and fashion. She's obsessed with gossip, too. She wants to go to the mall and movies alone with friends but no adults anywhere near. She's now emberassed to be seen around our parents (me, too) and she wants to be able to go to clubs and bars and casinos already. She wants to have a black Porsche Convertible or black Mercedes Bence, maybe a red Ferrari or yellow Mustang and wants to be a fashion designer and magazine editor in New York. While she's young and free, she wants to be a part-time model though. She's OVERLY obsessed with her body and always dieting. However, she sometimes can't help it and helps herself to a whole buffet. You know kids! She watches Gossip Girl and Friends and What I Like About You and The Secret Life. Her favorite movies are Romantic-Comedies and Chick-Flicks. She already says guys are hot and she acts really mature.

Bottom line, is it just me or is she really growing up too fast?

It is common with 12 year olds and even younger. I do not think that it is right that kids are growing up too fast these days but the media and peer pressure and other influences (family and more) are not helping the situation. I have the same conflict with my 10 year old sister who just turned 11. She acts like she is 20. She yells and screams at us all the time. She watches rated R (she saw Scary Movie when she was 5 and saw Knocked Up before I did). movies without a problem and enjoys them more than kid movies. She is watching Paris Hilton's my new BFF right now. She is obssessed with Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and Coach. She bascially won't wear anything that doesn't say those name brands. It gets really annoying because she brags about the clothes she has while I barely have any Abercrombie or hollister stuff (I only have like 2 shirts from hollister and 2 tanks from AandF even though I am way older than her). She yells at me for swearing but will swear herself. She is easy to insult me or look at me really rudely, especially when she thinks I am wrong. She gets pist off when she doesn't get what she wants which is normal for kids but it is not over kid stuff. She gets mad when she can't get a whole outfit from A and F. She just got an ipod touch for her bday while I do not even have one. She reads, "Yo mama" jokes. She loves family guy (14 year olds or older rating). She thinks I am werid for not being "tan" and makes fun of me. She loves the mall and cars too along with expensive stuff. She doesnt care about dieting becasue she is still small but I have heard her say a lot that she is fat (even though she only has a little baby belly). She won't read a book, not even an easy chaper book. Right now, she is watching Daisy of Love on VH1. So there you go, yoour sister sounds like mine. We have so much in common, LOL. She also wants high-heals. Before she was a size 6 women's (smallest size) she wanted to wear high-heals. "Can you get these for me? They fit (even though they were falling off her)" She paints her nails too neon colors (popular now). She also likes bras and said she wanted a thong. She also loves rap. The song, "Birthday Sex" was on and she didnt want me to change it. Werid....

A twelve year old shouldn't be self-conscious enough to diet..

its just you dude! Shes 12 if shes just starting with all that stuff then shes growing up slower than me. its fine and i totally dont get the thing with movies. Dont kids start going 2 movies with just their friends when their like 10?
