Just installed the Joe Heck Racing shifter mount and would highly recommend this product!! Shift are smoother and more precise! Makes driving your Mustang more enjoyable!

I have the Barton. Same concept. Anything is better than the stock P.O.S!

Doesnt it make it so much better?!

How much did your shifter cost?

I think the bracket is around 50 bucks if you get the JHR one. I have a JHR short throw shifter coming that I scored used. Cant wait to get it.

I scored the JHR short throw shifter for 65 this weekend. :)
I don't think you need one after installing the new bracket but for that price there no way you could pass that smoking deal up! Let me know how much better it shifts!

ya that is why i grabbed it. honestly the bracket makes a huge difference. the shifter will most likely just reduce the throw a bit and also bring it back 1 inch and up about an inch. it should make it a tad more precise and comfortable. i wont get it in until a wekk or so and i will let you know. :)

Got the shifter in. I love it. Snicks into gear. Perfect throw shortness. Shifter is back and up a little which is perfect for me too. Love it!

I cant recommend the shifter anymore.

I had tons of issues with reverse locking out, not locking out. I spoke with someone (who will remain nameless) that designed the shifter. He no longer works for JHR. He told me it was rushed to production and it still has a few bugs in it but he no longer has the means to work on it. He offered for me to send it to him to go over to see if it was a simple fix. He gave me some suggestions that I tried with no success. I also tried to isolate it to something else. I tried swapping out the spring for reverse and basically took it in and out a few times, cut my shifter boot (had spare) to make it so it didnt pull, (The shifter is taller and sits back further resulting in the shifter boot being very tight and we thought that might be a cause to one of the many issues I had with it) and even completely removed the inner boot as well to see if the shifter was hanging up on it. I even removed the reverse lockout tab completely (Bolts on and is made out of Delrin plastic) and I still had issues getting into reverse and it popping out of gear.

No good.

So. I went back to the stock shifter and put in my spare leather boot and a GT knob I had as well. The stock shifter is what I will stick with until I can test drive a car with the MGW or Barton.

I was told to just keep the shifter and got my money back so I am not out anything except for a shifter boot I had as a spare for a project and my time.

Until they come up with a shifter boot that fits and fix the issues I would stay away.

I wanted it to work so bad. I tried everything. I loved how it raised the knob and brought it back and how firm it felt.

Oh forgot to add, I painted the stock silver cap part of the shifter HP White so it matches my car paint. It just pops off if you get a flathead screw driver under it and gently pry. 4 clips hold it on. 2 on the front and 2 on the back.

Thanks. It was fairly easy to do and I like it a lot better than the silver with the shift pattern. I want to put a storm trooper water slide on it. lol.
