I'm hoping to get a chance to go out to a junkyard in a couple weeks, I'm trying to find an 8.8 rear. Would pulling one of a car in a junkyard be a safe idea, and if so could anyone give me a list of tools/sizes of things to bring with me?
Or are there good sites to find take off parts?
Would it bolt right up or would I need more parts?
Any help would be great thanks :)

Check it over - make sure that the car wasn't hit in the rear or rear quarters (that could bend an axle). If you can get a portable impact that would help a lot - the LCA's are torqued to 129 ft lb so you will need something that can break things free. Can't tell you the size of the bolts now though, but you should be able to find a diagram.

Depending upon the year it comes from you may need to swap the pinion flange to mount to your driveshaft. If it is coming from a 2011+ (V6 or V8 for that year) it should be a direct swap. If it comes out of a 2005-2010 V8 then you need to change the pinion flange with the cobra flange.
