Most of the hood surface is in a low pressure area so almost any hood scoop will allow hot air to leave the engine compartment. I'm at a loss though for a modification that will help a stock looking hood extract air. It's interesting though if anyone has any ideas.

I want to paint my 65 black but that could cause hear problems so. I was looking for a way to paint it black but not have the engine blow up on me.

There's a lot of black cars out there! If you want black, paint it black. Keep your engine and cooling system in good shape. A bigger concern would be your comfort if you have black interior.

I thought about that too. It'd be so hot in there without any a/c. So I thought about leaving it the way it is. Maybe changing a couple things. Redoing the interior. And eventually getting a new v8 put in it. Would it sound better with a quiet exhaust or loud?
