Hey, Quick question guys.
2013 Mustang GT/Premium/MT Delivery Date: 05/31/12
RE: Interior Dome lighting

This has been bothering me for a while now and I never checked it out as of yet, because I thought it was just the way the 2013 Mustang interior Dome lighting operated until I just stumbled onto Page 79 under Lighting in the 2013 owners manual.

The interior dome lighting is supposed to turn on upon entry (opening one of the doors) to illuminate your entry. That it does!

It Also states that by pressing ANY button on the Key Fob the Interior Dome lights turn on. THAT IT DOES NOT !! and never has since I have the car.

Can someone please try your Key Fobs for me when you have a chance and let me know if your Interior Dome Lights turn on or Not, after pressing any button on your Key Fobs (Especially the Open Door Button) I would guess.

I hate to call Ford over this simple matter unless I know for sure that my car has a problem with the lighting or Key Entry/Fob etc.
ALL my other cars would illuminate the interior with the press of the Key fob so you could see inside the car as you approach your vehicle.

Thank You

Mine only illuminated the dome when I physically open the door.

Button mashing has no effect.

From my 2011 Owners manual:

Illuminated entry
The interior lamps and turn signal lamps illuminate when the integrated
keyhead transmitter is used to unlock the door(s).
The illuminated entry system will turn off the interior lights if:
• the ignition switch is turned to the on position, or
• the integrated keyhead transmitter lock control is pressed, or
• after 25 seconds of illumination.
The inside lights will not turn off if:
• they have been turned on with the dimmer control, or
• any door is open.
Illuminated exit
• When all vehicle doors are closed and the key is removed from the
ignition, the interior dome lamp and the turn signal lamps will
illuminate.
The lights will turn off if all the doors remain closed and:
• 25 seconds elapse, or
• the key is inserted in the ignition.
Locks and Security

It also mentions programming keys, but nothing on enabling/disabling the feature (interior lights). A trip to your Ford dealer service department should get it corrected.
