Depends on the money he's willing to spend. He could always get a supercharger, but that'd run him out a couple grand. But a couple relatively inexpensive ways to get the job done is to buy dual exhaust, a performance coil pack, performance spark plugs, and wires. You can't really do much for a V6 that won't run your wallet dry.

you wont gain much of anything mod wise on the 3.8L engine, but you can do a few cheaper things to help it out.

Gears are the best bang for the buck, they wont add any hp or tq but they do help acceleration a TON, much more than any other simple bolt on by FAR, go 3.73 if manual 4.10s for auto and expect a half second quicker 0-60 time (or about like bolting up 50hp lol). Hurts gas mileage on the interstate a bit but helps in the city~

Exhaust is everyones opinion, the 3.8L is an even fire motor and simply does not sound good above 2500 rpms with a loud exhaust, so you can stay mellow tone OEM gt mufflers or make it "loud" that is not always good, its an opinion there so go with what you like.

Other than that you can get a cheap intake ~

the M90 is not generally a good path to go down, due to you basically needing the entire supercoupe motor to make it work and the end results are meh at best. They do make an m112 supercharger swap kit (from an 03/04 cobra) that works but has no cooling solution~ either one would be more invested than the car is worth though

The car could hold sentimental value.

an m112 would be a great upgrade for a 99-04 but for an sn95 an m90 is a great swap :good: you can see m90 v6's running s197 GTs all day long on youtube, and even at my local track :good: of course we all have our own opinions
