so my mom has bought me a mustang for my first car, and i am in love with it. it is a 2007 red v6 mustang with only about 10,000 miles on it, and it is almost like brand new. I was wondering what everyone thought of a mustang being my new car. what are your opinions on the gas price and how the car runs and insurance etc.
Also, if you are a parent, would you buy your son/daughter a mustang for their first car?

p.s. so my mom bought me my car, but my dad doesnt know. He aboslutly hatess mustangs and the ford company because he likes the pruis hybrids and safe non sports cars. If you agree with him, why? i know gas is going back up and hybrids are the way to go now, but what other reasons are there to hate a mustang, and what is one way to convince him that a mustang is a good first car for me?

thankss :)
sorry that theres alot to read and write.

Id sell it asap. The ford mustang of any year with a v6 is gunna be worth nothing in 5 years max they just dont hold price value and never have if u want a stang thats worth money it has to be a v8 bad choice on the v6 first car or not.If it were me i would have gotten u a wrx small little turbo 5 spd awd great in every season way better gas mileage and way cheaper insurance.both of your parents have bad taste in cars.

I used to have a 2004 Ford Mustang with a V6. It drove just like my Mercury Sable and Pon. Grand Prix. It did slide more often than my front wheel drives in the snow, but it was easier to get it under control when it did. I can't tell you much about hybrids, I've never owned one, so I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about them.

A V-6 with an automatic is a pretty calm car, even for a mustang. The only downside is the rear wheel drive which can be a problem in icy weather for a new driver.

first of all you all ready buy the car what is the sense in selling it

second yes hybrids are the way to go but that doesn't mean it is the car for every one.

by the way the car is fairly new and it wouldn't polute the air

my personal opion on the toyota pariah is not fit for broadcast. todays sports and recriation cars are more safer than 15 years ago. braking steering and handling have come on in leaps and bounds the mustang is a v6 not the v8.

your insurance is gonna be higher because you have sports car, and if your into cars the mustang your mom got you is great with low miles, personally i am fan of imports (german cars). The gas is gonna be a pain but if you could afford it why not? I am not a parent but my uncle and i had this discussion for his daughter and we both agreed that such car is not good for young adults specially in high school. Because when you go to college it is not practical to help you move not enough room. not good for road trips. if it is RWD (most mustangs are) which could cause you problems if your state has snow.
