I just replaced the pitman arm on my 1973 Mustang and it has made a significant change in my steering. The old one needed to be replaced because it was damaged, and this is a brand new one.

Now when I drive my car, I cannot keep it in a straight line at all, it's not so bad that I drive into oncoming traffic, but I am always either going left, or right.

Is it mechanically safe to drive like this? I understand it is a safety issue for myself and other drivers, but I am taking it into the shop next week to get this fixed. But in the mean time will I do any damage to the car by driving it?
