Amsoil or royal purple
What are the benefits of using full synthetic oil?
Best oil

The best oil is anything with this on the bottle or can.

Just be certain it is 5W-20 but it will be your choice to use Semi Synthetic or full Synthetic.

OP - I asked myself the same question and started searching the Internet. I have been using the Motorcraft Synthetic Blend with a Motorcraft Filter. My reasoning, misguided as it might be, below:

From what I can find out the Mustang was shipped with Motorcraft 5W-20 Synthetic Blend. It has the xxx% Oil Life indicator, which I wanted to use. In order for this to work they would have had to pick an oil for the constant in the algorithm to calculate the percentage. It would stand to reason that they used what was shipped in the car.

I drive around 2500 miles a month so the oil is changed every 8 to 10 weeks. Considering the change frequency Full Synthetic seemed a waste. Admittedly I have not let the % get lower than 30% -- I still have that "every 3000 miles" oil change mentality, but am putting forth an effort to change.

In addition to that I read "good things" (vague, I know) about the Motorcraft Synthetic Blend on Bob Is The Oil Guy.

I use mobil 1 5w-20 full synthetic with a mobil 1 filter.

I use motorcraft 5/20 full synthetic and motorcraft filter.
Mobil 1 5w20, Motorcraft filter. That's what I run. I go shorter intervals than recommended, so I'm not too worried about anything beyond stock filtration. I've always had good look with Mobil 1.

Honestly, just about any 5w20 semi-synthetic or full synthetic will work fine. There are good and bad filters, but the worst filter is better than not changing your oil at all.
Since its kind of on subject..how often does everyone change out the oil?

5w 30. No reason to use 5w 20.
Yea, another oil thread with dubious info.
NAPA

Farmed Out! I just changed mine,14% read my display. I went to NAPA saw GF-5 on the back
of the bottle's label & bought "Full Synthetic" NAPA oil 5w20w made by Valvoline so say's
the counter man! Got a NAPA "Gold" filter made for NAPA by Wix. 5quarts did not fill it full?

I use Motorcraft full synthetic and Motorcraft filter. I drive less than 6,000 miles a year so i change it every 6 months, comes to an average of 2,600 to 2,900 miles.

That's a damn shame to waste all that good oil that you throw out after 2,900 miles. That's crazy bro, lol. Not only do you throw it out after 3k (which by the way went out with pagers and pay phones) but you spend the extra loot for a full synthetic blend and still throw it out after 3k. Wow! Good stuff, Bananas

The manufacturers recommended oil change interval with the 11 plus mustangs is 10k miles and that's just with regular oil. So if your spending all this money on fully synthetic oil such as example Royal Purple, then no reason in the world why you can't go 10k intervals for oil change. Your not racing your car.
