What's the best oil and filter to use on a 2011 premium v6?

That's a damn shame to waste all that good oil that you throw out after 2,900 miles. That's crazy bro, lol. Not only do you throw it out after 3k (which by the way went out with pagers and pay phones) but you spend the extra loot for a full synthetic blend and still throw it out after 3k. Wow! Good stuff, Bananas
It's not hurting anything to change early, plus he's not wasting more than $50 for an entire year. I don't trust 10k intervals. The oils viscosity may last that long but dirt and grime are still present. The factory recommend intervals are established for their profit. By having longer oil change intervals it lowers the cost of ownership and helps sells cars. Oil technology has improved greatly but I rather change my oil twice a year at 3.5k and hopefully have a cleaner engine.

Well, I agree 10k does sound a bit long but I don't think the Ford Corporation would lie about the oil change interval. 3k. Omg, that's crazy. Certainly, its not hurting anything to change the oil but a waste of money and perfectly great oil life left but if someone wants to due that, have at it. The 3k rule is so outdated and did that back in 1992. Its called evolution! For me, the oil gets changed at the same time the tires get rotated and that's every 7500k miles. Regular oil mind you. Now with my mods and will be driving the car a bit more aggressive, I will most likely use a fully synthetic oil, however the 7500k interval will remain the same.

The best advice I can give is due what ever one feels comfortable with oil changes at 3, 5, 7, 10k mile intervals.
For $25.00 you can get your oil analyzed at Blackstone: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ -- I have not done it yet but I'm sure curiosity will get the better of me at some point.
