ITS COOL! I can get an elbow and 2 connectors and make mine work...done that before
JIM...unrelated question. on the thread Roush RS......folks were asking about your RTR upfit....can you get that certified as an RTR with your upgrades???? one person had picked up that RTR will have a V6 exhaust here shortly.....
I've seen engine paint rated for 500 degrees or hotter, run like water.

Definitely go with 1000 or hotter
+1 I saw the same thing in the old days

I don't know - CDC did the upgrade as part of a package I won from them. Since they are the manufacturer for the RTR I would think if it could be certified they would have said something. But I am missing the RTR rear spoiler. I changed from the stock spoiler to the GT/CS style in black so they left that alone when they did the conversion.

I'll have to ask one of the CDC reps next week when I see him - and I'll ask about the V6 RTR exhaust as well.
Thanks Jim. Installing my Trufiber 'boss' (gt/cs) spoiler tomorrow....was a real pain getting the old one off. Thanks to all here who posted the how to, and many how told me how to remove the rear bumper. Slimer's backside is somewhat disassembled at moment....LOL
RTR chin spoiler goes on soon...

BTW...never got the pic of your Strut Bar :(
this is a really old post...
and I didn't want to start a new thread :p
Has anyone painted their valve covers?
and has that intake manifold gotten anywhere as far as production/development?
That manifold hasn't been done again - apparently the project was abandoned. They offered to sell me the prototype if I wanted to continue with it and re-work it myself but I declined. The developer sold her car so she won't be doing anything more on it.
As to COP covers (coil over plug); what we are calling valve covers, our 3.7 V6's do not have them. You'd have to mask off the surrounding engine area (and COP's: coil over plugs), then paint to make it appear that covers exist, and are painted. And that would be on the drivers side. No reason to paint the passender side, as it is not exposed; the intake runners wrap over it.

So I'd say not worth it.

This is the main reason I don't see a point in painting them. Our engines already look lopsided to begin with. Accenting one side with paint will make it even more apparent.

Sent from the future.

I didn't like the lopsided look either, so I put the tupperware Ford Ti-Vct logo Engine cover on it. My guess is Ford thought the same or else they would have never made the cover for the drivers side.
I meant if anyone reading this forum does it I would like to do it to mine but not sure how it would turn out :D
I painted my valve covers on my 2006 4.0 V6 course the color is none other than Ford engine blue and topped off with aluminum "Powered by Ford" Badges in keeping with the retro theme of the 2005/2009 Mustangs which we all know are a very good looking car. For to ask my son how to include a picture of it
