How much MPG will a 1960s Mustang, maybe a 1969 Mustang? Will it have the same performance as modern day cars? I am looking t buy it as my second ever car. i used to drive a Honda Odyssey. Can it handle like a Infinity G37 if certain parts are installed?

the 65 to 69 classic Mustangs with v8 only get 15 to 19 mpg on the highway and lots less in town, that's because they didn't have fuel injection and overdrive transmissions...

However if these thing are added they can get comparable mileage and performance..

I won't go into comparing them to a modern car in handling..

One thing they don't have is the depreciation of a new car, in fact they appreciate as you fix them up..

60s ... thats 6 years of diffrance...
First off G37 - YES smoke it... but what do you have to do ?
Well for drag not to much...
The 289 is good but a 302 aka 5.0 is B.A.
The odds of it havving a v8 though are LOW...
So your probaly gonna swap it...
at least a 302.... It wont take alot to smoke a g37 in drag...
Drift? lol please dont try... get a freaking 240...
track racing it totaly diffrent id use to 302 and build it to about 400-500hp AND **** THE **** UP..... basicly get rid of the b.s on the car... change the windows tires, susp, EVERY thing basicly replace all of it....
track racing it isnt the best idea ither... stick to the strip..
and just learn all about 302's there is to much to just say hey do this...

O YEA... no it wont handel no wherer like it...you have to change ALOT of major parts....
mpg shouldnt be to bad if its a v6 ...v8 lol like 18mpg

i have a 73, and a 95 explorer. the way the 4.0 pushes the explorer it might be a nice swap out trans and all into the mustang. then once perfected (running right) get the ford soup books out and see what aftermarket beef may be lying in wait.the explorer is pushing some 15x31.10.5s
