You have a link of we're I can get one?
It's called a SCT SF3 Handheld tuner. It reprogrammed your car to fully utilize it's power for any and all upgrades and frees up HP on a stock car as well. But remember it does void your warranty, if your not worried about that then you should invest in one. AmericanMuscle.com sells them and you get free lifetime tunes so if u buy a part, call them up and they can write up a custom tune for ur car as many times as you need and they have AMAZING customer service!!

For 1250 budget I would personally advise for

1. BBK Long Tube Headers and Off Road X-Pipe

2. Handheld tuner with free tunes for life.
http://www.americanmuscle.com/x3-custom-tuner-2011v6.html
3. Pypes Axlebacks or Magnaflow Axlebacks
http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-pype-bomb-1113v6.html

That would give your car around a 30-45HP boost and it will sound like a true road monster!!

It's not required as long as he don't take off the governor on the car. And doesn't push his car too hard. I go to the track every Friday and my car is doing great
:good: and there is no real evidence this is actually a real issue. To my knowledge there have been two documented DS failures. Been on a half dozen other forums and the same two videos is all I've seen.

That's why I'm telling him it's not required unless he wants to go passed 130 which is what it's rated at.

Notice how I said "could" and not will. And it was discussed on another forum that it isn't as much as the speed that snaps it, but the torque that is applied to the car. I have hammered my v6 a lot without any trouble, but if I had 1500 to spend on upgrades, I would get a driveshaft. Just throwing out my 2C on the upgrade topic.

Before you do anything, you need to get a new driveshafts. The driveshaft on the 13' v6 is very unreliable. You can get it here.
Mustang Mustang Aluminum One Piece Driveshaft (11-13 V6) M4611M - Free Shipping!

If you push it to hard without a new shaft, it could snap on you, which could destroy the entire car.

After a new shaft, I would proceed to get a tune, CAI, and then a better exhaust.
Good points if high speed and track use are an issue.

The stock driveshaft won't break at any normal speeds and use because of the stock speed limiter that's set in the Mustangs ECM (Fast enough for the posted speed limits in the states right now). A tuner will lift this, so If a tuner is to be bought and the plan is to lift the maximum speed for track purposes, then yes, consider the drive shaft.

My guess is that Ford changed the late V6 2013's with a one piece driveshaft for export sales. In Germany for example, they have the famous autoban sections of highway where the speed is higher, or even unlimited. For the Mustang V6 to sell there, a one piece would be a requirement.

Unless its important for you to drive at speeds of 140 plus, waste of money for a new driveshaft as one of your first mods. One can clearly drive safe doing 120 MPH with the stock driveshaft on an enclosed track of course. Never on the public streets

A first must have mod is, sct bama performance tuner along 3:55 or 3:73 gears. Our stock 2.73 gears are horrible. That's around your budget.

CAI'S are great but you will only notice considerable gains when combined with aftermarket headers along with off road x pipe or high flow cattwd x pipe. That's down the road for ya.
