I'm thinking of changing my stock pistons for flat tops? For more power I've had my stock heads 2v ported any ideas

In my opinion no it's not worth it for only a few extra horsepower... I'd go for a bigger cam or headers if you haven't already

I've got a mild cam at the moment would it be worth going for a more race one

Don't go too crazy with a cam, it's got to match your carb, intake and heads to function properly. Just make sure all the components work together. A well matched engine will out perform one with a single race component.
