Are you painting it? Or taking it somewhere?
Its an immense amount of work, especially if youve never done it before. A good paint job is 100% reliant on good prep work. Sub par prep can ruin any paint job.
If your doing it yourself just make sure you have all the tools and supplies youll need. Sanding blocks, sandpaper, prep spray, primer, sealer, D/A sanders, masks etc etc. Most importantly TAKE YOUR TIME. It is not something than can be done in a couple of hours. Make sure you have a weekend (at least) set aside to do it.

Really wAnt to do it myself to save me a ton of money... Before I start I will do alot of research on it though

If your just trying to do the prep yourself and have someone else paint it, you wont really save a whole lot when you add up the supplies youll need vs what the shop would charge. In fact all the reputable shops in my area will do their own prep work anyway, ie redo all the prep work you did anyway. This lets them guarantee their work because they know it was done correctly.
That being said it is rewarding doing the work yourself. If your going to paint it yourself, dont skimp on supplies/tools (gun/compressor and paint) equipment. A good setup will be quite expensive, sometimes rivaling that of what a shop would charge to do it for you.
Your on the right path, research as much as possibe. When I started painting I picked up a bunch of panels cheap at the salvage yard to perfect my technique on. Same goes for prep, try your hand at some junk parts before going to town on your car.

if you have no experience painting dont do it on a car you care about looking good, thats the best advice I can give. But to your answer acetone is what they use to wipe down cars pre paint right? IF painting out side it wont matter much lol crap will be all in the paint when done or any sort of indoor area as well without proper equipment.
Sometimes doing it right = cost more up front vs doing it wrong 5 times to = more in the end for both time and money than doing it right up front

I have a. Buddy that has all the equipment.. He does it for a living... I do have my spoiler I took off so I could just try it first

Practice, practice, practice. Its a skilled art that cant be learned overnight. Hell ive been working at it for a year or two and still am not sure if id paint my daily driver myself. That why I'm Coughing up a nice chunk of change to have a good shop do it next week.
