I have 2018 Roush Jackhammer Stage 3. When I take it out on the track for some fun, I have a problem with the transaxal fluid over heating in only about ten minutes. I have looked into a modification of the rear differential to include a cooler, but they only seem to be available for earlier models. Does anyone have any ideas for solving this issue? I have heard that the GT500 differential cover might work, but I'm not convinced. I've also seen recommendations to thermal wrap the exhaust near the diff, to change the fluid, and to disable ALL traction control in the car. But these all seem like desperate half measures. I'm looking for a better solution. Thanks.

IMHO, I would not use any thermal wrap as heat transfer would be stopped and that's the last thing you want!. I'm really surprised that the diff fluid is overheating unless there is an issue with either the posi (adjustment) or the fluid is incorrect or needing a different spec.

I ain't too surprised, given the level of power here. Heck, the old stick axle Boss 302s needed a cooler at the track and one was standard on the LS cars, iirc. Those cars had a bit more than half the power of a Stage 3 Jackhammer. I don't have a solution for you on the cooler front. The IRS crowds a lot of stuff out of the way there. I probably would start with GT500 or GT350R stuff and see if that'll work.

I know this was misread, he meant to thermal wrap the exhaust pipe near the rear diff so the exhaust pipe isn’t transferring heat to the diff/axle. I don’t think that’s a bad idea. A finned diff cover may help too.
