My dad has a 1978 Mustang that's been sitting in my grandparents drive way for about 16-17 years. It hasn't been driven for that amount of time. I would like to get it restored to the point where I can drive it. I believe the last time the engine was replaced was the mid-late 80s. I'm wondering how much it'll cost to get it drivable. This isn't including anything that involves the way it looks or a new engine. The interior is absolutely perfect. Could some one give me an estimate of how much it would cost to get some of the essential parts replaced and the cost of labor? I don't think I'll be able to do it alone xD

If it's not including the engine or the way it looks, what is it including? The tranny may need to be replaced, the whole underbody may be rusted beyond repair. I'd say you'd need $10,000 to get it up to drivable.
Sorry, 1978 Stangs are quite old and not a collector's item either.

Pretty hard to give an estimate without seeing and evaluating the car. I'd advise trying to find a Mustang car club in your area. That way you'll have knowledgeable people who can help you figure out what it needs and what the costs will be. Good Luck. Restoring and driving the old ones are always fun.
