All I see is drag strip threads here. Certainly nothing wrong with that but doesn't anyone share info on actually turning right and left on a track??? I've been running my 13 GT on a few road courses in the NE and having an absolute blast and doing quite well against other vehicles that I would have guessed would have blown off stock (almost) Mustangs. Love to hear if anyone's been around Lime Rock, Pocono, NH or NJ road courses this year. If not, you don't know what you're missing!

I autocross regularly along with a few others on this forum. Never taken my car to a road course though. Track days at Laguna Seca are never less than $400 from what I've seen.
Most track days are $295 in the Northeast. Since I use my DD I also opt for insurance which runs $200 but I think I'm the only one at the track that does this but I'd better be safe than sorry. Yeah tack a tank or 2 of gas on top of that and it does pinch a bit.

While auto crossing offers huge bang for the buck, there's just something about a full road coarse day that makes me glad I bought a GT.

Looking forward to doing some road courses but at the moment having a lot of fun in autocross. Out of curiosity, what classes are you guys running in? Im currently in F-Stock on street tires and planning on staying there.

I ran F stock last year and think I could again, but I did download a FRRP tune and changed the brake pads to Hawk FerroCarbon so that might kick me out. Also moved to Michelin Pilot SS which were not offered so...either way I never got serious enough with auto cross to worry about winning a class. For the road course events there is no timing, just trying to improve with more track time, racing against those in classes with similar experience.

What about midwest? I know of country club in joliet..but obviously can't afford that. How do they work...inspections? Probably wouldn't even let me on the course lol. I guess ill stick to the somewhat country roads on work commutes.
If you go to Motorsportreg.com or google Hooked on Driving or SCDA (Sports Car Drivers Association) you can get listings of all events in your area.
