I'm looking into a set of these Ford Racing Turbo-Swirl GT40X heads for my 89 5.0. I found out I need a set of 1.60 roller rockers to make these heads work. I also found out that they make a lot of different 1.60 rockers. How do I know what ones to pick up? Why wouldn't the stock rockers work?

I never heard ou have to have roller rockers for those heads. But doesn't meant that's not true. You need to make sure they work for your size pushrods which should be 5/16". Also make sure what the heads require like stud mount etc. The specs for the heads should tell you for what kind of rr to use. I usually find parts on summit racing and they will most of the time have the instructions sheets. But besides that its mostly budget. I use scorpion roller rockers and they are bad ass. They are a bit over kill though. Most people just run the ford racing rr. They are of good quality.
