Probaly have a thread like this but can't search but I have 2 10in powerbass subs in a sealed box in my 02 GT bass is ok don't need a lot need it for my music ( 80s metal and some newer metal) looking into getting a ported because when I have the volume up there is a loud rattle that comes from my box ow inside my box I thought it was my license plate but it wasn't... So what does a ported box actually do and would this maybe help?

A ported box will make it quite a bit louder, how big of am amp are you runnin? You might be makin the subs bottom out

A Kenwood 1000 w ... Kinda new to all this so tuning it may be a diference

I always ran my amps at half power unless I was at a competition, just try turning the amp down a little at a time and see if it's gets any better... If not pull the subs out and check to see if anything is loose around the cone and voice coil....
